Meeting in the Organized Singles Scene

And then there is the organized singles scene that is commercial in nature..... This includes activities like speed dating, singles dinners, and the like. 

Speed dating, if you have never done it, is a bit like singles musical chairs. A couple is seated at a table and talk for a few minutes (3-7 minutes). A bell rings and one of the couple moves on to the next table and the talking starts again. At the end of the night, singles turn in a score card, having marked the singles they want to see again. If both the single man and the single woman mark "yes" for each other, the hosts will give each of them the other's contact information. The rest is up to the singles themselves. Speed dating in Dallas-Fort Worth takes a lot of the rejection factor out of dating and that is a good thing.

The dinners are often matched for age and sometimes for interests--less often for interests. Some have a version of musical chairs, too, where the men or women change places or move to another table. 

At best you will find someone to date at the dinners or at speed dating and that is often the case. At worst you will make new friends and have a good time so they are more than worth trying out. We heard one DFW guy say, "This is the only way to date!" 

For whatever reason the popularity of all-singles dances in Dallas-Fort Worth has fallen to almost nothing. So, it is out to the DFW singles bars if you like to dance.
