Texas Festivals

There are dozens of small-town festivals in Texas each year. They celebrate everything from hot peppers to sweet potatoes, and Czech culture to early Texas history.

Most festivals have a children's area and make an outstanding family trip. The festivals can be combined with a local bed and breakfast for a romantic week-end with your special person or go with a group of friends.

If you are single and looking for someone special, these festivals give you an excellent opportunity to meet singles from the local scene plus a few from the metroplex who venture there for the festivities.

Many celebrations feature street dances. They add to the entertainment and give you the best chance to meet new people from the local scene.

Most festivals have free admission, a few have nominal charges for the street dances or particular activities, and all have charges for food. The food activities offer another way to meet the natives.

You can arrange to spend Saturday night if you wish. However, all festivals were chosen for their reasonable driving distance to D/FW. A designated driver can get you or your group safely home after the dance.

From fall through spring in Texas are delightful times to enjoy the great outdoors. Trips do not need to be long to be enjoyable. In fact, a week-end trip combined with a local festival is a relaxing way to enjoy the scenery, the open air, the fall foliage, and even an opportunity to meet some new people.
