Wheelchair accessible Permanent Collection: Chartered in 1892 as the Fort Worth Public Library and Art Gallery, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is the oldest art museum in Texas. The museum's permanent collection features modern and contemporary American and European art, including paintings, sculpture, works on paper and international contemporary photography. Contemporary sculpture is on view outdoors on the grounds of the museum. Special programs: Free lecture series, guided tours, special exhibitions, inter-museum loan, adult and children's art classes and workshops, library. Tours can be scheduled through the Modern's Education Department at (817) 738-9215. Wheelchair accessible The Modern at Sundance Square is an annex of the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth located in downtown Fort Worth. The space is located in the historic 1929 Sanger Building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Modern's annex features gallery space for exhibiting small-scale exhibitions and a larger branch of the museum's unique gift shop. Works from the museum's permanent collection are exhibited regularly. |
