Dallas Age of Steam Museum This Fair Park museum
features several old locomotives and cars. The gift shop is in the restored 1905 Houston
and Texas Central Depot. Included are the world's largest steam locomotive, a
twelve-section open sleeper train, and electric locomotive #4903 that pulled the 1968
funeral train of Senator Robert Kennedy. Some of passenger cars may be boarded. Ennis Railroad and Cultural Heritage Museum
Photos of trains that stopped in Ennis and a replica of the train station. Ennis was the
hub for the Houston and Texas Central Railroad. Artifacts from a bygone day when Ennis was
the stopping point for 18 passenger trains. An 1897 Book of Rules for train
operators is displayed, along with vintage photos and train station miniatures. Fort Worth Forest Park Train Ride Miniature train
carries passengers on five mile ride. Hours and days of operation are subject to change
from winter to summer schedule. It is best to call ahead for information. Fort Worth/Grapevine Tarantula Railroad Steam train takes you
from Grapevine to Stockyards Station which is a large Western market located in the
original Fort Worth Stockyards. Engines date from 1896 to 1929 on this nine mile ride.
Victorian coaches and open-air cars. Garland Heritage Park Home of
Landmark Museum in a restored three-room Santa Fe train depot. Area historic artifacts are
on view as well as 1910 Santa Fe Pullman car. Two unfurnished turn-of-century homes. Grapevine Cotton Belt Depot and Museum Restored
1901 train station features train memorabilia and exhibits from the history of Grapevine.

Railroad memorabilia and other historic artifacts in a restored train station in the
downtown historic area of Plano. Rusk/Palestine Texas State Railroad Turn-of-century
steam train runs between Rusk and Palestine. The 50-mile round trip takes you through
scenic countryside, gorgeous forest lands, and across the Neches River. Depot creates
early 20th century train station with Victorian styling. Rusk is native iron ore stone and
Palestine depot is wood. Rusk depot shows history film. Engines are from 1901 to 1927.
Line was started in 1896 with convict labor. Renovated in 1972 with convict labor. Snack
bar aboard train and restaurants at each end. Reservations a must. Call 800 442-8951 for
fees, schedule. Camp at Rusk State Park adjacent to train terminal. Terrell Terrell Heritage Museum 2000
British cadets trained in Terrell during WWII and museum houses a No. 1 British Flying
Training School Association display, Texas-Midland Railroad memorabilia, 1912 Estes pipe
