Why do we have a survey?

The survey is a research tool that is compiled, then guides us in: 
1. Planning meeting locations.
2. Seeking land in DFW and beyond.
3. Knowing what people seek in their own personal lives and ideal communities.

It also adds you to our mailing list for invitations to our meetings and new information regarding ecovillage/cohousing in all the communities around DFW.

in Ecohousing Communities

Please hear nationally acclaimed green builder Jim Sargent speak about ecohousing communities and their green building in the DFW area. Free.

Sargent writes, "Too often I observe people trying to build green from the outside in instead of the inside out. 'I found a plan I really like, can you build it green for me?' Then a few 'green' materials or concepts are thrown at the structure in the hope that you can call the final product green. This approach and the resulting structures are usually disappointing. By deciding what they are going to build first, people watch their 'Green Dreams' fade as they become more knowledgeable about Green Living."

He continues, "Cohousing or Ecohousing is usually developed in a way that promotes greener thinking. There is usually a mission statement that is thought out way in advance of site selection or construction. Then the site is selected and the structure is designed to meet the mission statement."
