One of the best ways
to understand electricity is to think of it as water flowing through a
garden hose. It flows through the
hose at a certain rate. As we open the faucet, it flows faster; as we
close the faucet, it flows slower Electricity also
flows at different rates, depending on the load or how much you are
drawing at any one time. The flow of
electricity is measured in amps or amperes--the higher the amperage, the
higher the flow. Voltage is equivalent
to water pressure in the hose. In a battery system high voltage indicates
an abundance of power stored in the batteries. Wattage is a measure
of power and electronics are all rated by wattage. It is determined by
multiplying the amps a panel produces by the volts: W= a x v. What Is
