First Step: Solar Hot Water

Solar how water (also known as solar thermal) is recognized as the most efficient and least expensive renewable technology available today.

Solar hot water is the only household appliance to pay for itself several times during its useful life.

A federal tax credit of 30% is available to all who retrofit their hot water system--even without replacing your hot water tank(s).

A rebate is available from one North Texas utility when your hot water tank is replaced with a "solar" tank. However, this is not a practical application if you have a viable hot water storage tank as the cost and the financial benefits are almost equal.

Some municipalities also offer a rebate for solar hot water.
