Green Building in Dallas-Fort Worth

The goal of a green builder should be to construct a high performance home or building that is 1) Energy-Efficient; 2) Healthy; 3) Comfortable; 4) Affordable; 5) Durable; 6) Resource Responsible; 7) Sustainable.

Green Building is many things. It a science and it is a passion. Green Building allows people to be safe, comfortable, healthy and environmentally responsible in their own homes, schools, and work places.

Most home and commercial builders in DFW, or the entire world for that matter, do not have the knowledge to build green. Nor do they have the passion to build green. Add the fact that many architects and home designers don't have the knowledge either, and you have an industry that desperately needs change. Hopefully, this website will help bring that change to Dallas-Fort Worth.

Green Building is a complicated subject involving many different systems. This is a work in progress. We will cover a new aspect of green building often. If you would like this information by email, join our list here.

    City of Dallas Goes Green

When we build, let us think that we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work as our descendents will thank us for; and let us think, as we lay stone on stone, that a time is to come when those stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, "See! This our father did for us."

    John Ruskin

John Ruskin, a giant figure of Victorian England, died in 1900. Ruskin's essays on architecture were extremely influential in the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
