AndersonSargent
Custom Builder L.P. Jim Sargent started building homes in the DFW area in the 1970s. In 2003 Sargent partnered with Vickie Anderson, who has been building homes for almost 20 years. They created the firm of AndersonSargent Custom Builder, L.P. Together with Bailey + Pfeiffer Architects, they built an award-winning residence, the first true zero energy home in North Texas. The Zero Energy Home generated massive media attention and coverage, stretching from Tokyo to Washington DC. It also won many awards. In the International Builders Show in Orlando, Florida (January 2006), AndersonSargent was crowned "Builder of the Year" for the 2006 Energy Value Housing Awards, as well as winning the Gold Award for Custom Home Builders in the Hot Climate category. The team of Sargent and Anderson has another first coming up. They are developing and will build the first true ecovillage, Hidden Lake Village, in Texas on 75 acres--with more DFW ecovillage locations planned for the future. From the first Zero-Energy Home in North Texas to the first true ecovillage in Texas, AndersonSargent continues to lead the way in green building innovations. And what is an ecovillage?
