New: Wildflower Village

Maybe you think this is a good idea. Now you ask, "Where can I find senior or retirement cohousing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?"

At this time, no communities are finished but a few are in the planning stages.

Your chances of completion seem to be better if you can find a developer-driven community.

Jim Sargent is developing senior cohousing communities on land he owns in the Red Oak-Waxahachie area. He is a partner in the construction firm of  AndersonSargent which was crowned "Builder of the Year" for the 2006 Energy Value Housing Awards, and won the Gold Award for Custom Home Builders in the Hot Climate category. His multi-cohousing ecovillage there, called Hidden Lake Village, is currently with the architect for design and will contain at least three senior cohousing communities.

If you can not find a senior or retirement cohousing community in your area, consider starting one. DFW Ecovillage will assist you.
