Kalachandji's Menu rotates and features Indian dishes
but food is not quite as spicy as some we have eaten. Homemade bread is pure American soul
food. Excellent buffet at unbelievable prices. Patio offers a lovely, relaxing way to
spend an afternoon or evening. Booths and tables surround fountain. Each booth is roofed,
heated, and cooled. Entire atmosphere is of peace and serenity. Some dairy, but you will
find many plant-based choices containing no animal fats on their buffet. Hard to find so
you might call first for directions. Indian 5430 Gurley Av, Dallas. 214 821-1048

Snappy Salads Fresh, healthy salads
made with (organic) spinach and other (non-organic) greens, veggies, nuts,
seeds. Earth friendly with to-go containers and cups made from a
corn-based plastic called PLA, and the utensils ("spudware") are
composed of potato starch. Both materials are renewable and compostable.
5915 Forest Ln at Preston. (972) 991-SNAP. HHH $-$$
Cafe Izmir Two choices: Vegetarian or Carnivore served
family-style for $16 each-- OR-- Genghis Grill You can be as healthy or as decadent as you please at this lower Greenville spot. Choose your own raw ingredients from a large variety of fresh veggies, tofu, and, yes, those fat-laden meats. Give them to the cook who stir-fries/steams them before your very eyes. Add a good selection of sauces from peanut sauce to garlic oil. Although not particularly romantic, this place is entertaining and fun! Prices are for all you can eat. It is also a good place for you to eat healthy while your companions max-out their cholesterol levels. Limited seating. Your food will probably pick up meat "juices" as it is cooked on the grill although they do try to keep them separate. Mongolian 1915 Greenville, Dallas. 214 841-9990 HHH $$ |
